It was a great day out, lovely weather, which saw us all losing the jackets before 11 o'clock.  Great company, from the Virtual Peaks TRF group, on the muddymonkeys forum, and a real decent ride, not too challenging, not too easy.  Very chilled.

Is that a volcanic ash cloud in the distance?

Poor old Ken lost the nut and washer holding his front sprocket on, and despite much searching, for the original or a replacement, that was his day done.

A shameless shot of my bike.  Note the cold weather gear and waterproofs strapped to the back.  Didn't need them!

ChrisUK climbing a lane, somewhere.

And 118118 on the same lane.

It was dusty, quite often we were pretty spread out, just so that we could see the trail ahead.  Haven't cleaned my air filter yet, but it beats being wet and muddy any day.

Stoppped for a breather.

Matts battery on his CRF was struggling to turn the starter, so while we were stopped we checked wether it was the battery or not.

We stopped to watch a little Suzuki 4x4 for a bit, which would have struggled further down, with it's road biased tyres and lack of sump gaurds.  You can see his mates behind Chris here.  We couldn't be bothered to wait all day for the 4x4's though.

The toughest lane of the day.

The only one to clear the lot was the other Chris.

I suppose that this is one way to confuse the law.  What do you mean my number plate is illegal, what number plate?

A belter of a day!
